Dr. Chandrasena has been a OntarioMd Peer Leader for over five years and is dedicated to encouraging her colleagues to use their EMR and other advanced technologies to improve physician workflows, efficiency and patient outcomes. She is currently interested in medical apps for physicians and patients and you can catch her talks and blogs at various websites. She is also active with CME planning and involved with the Department of Family Medicine in Ottawa. She is on a number of different Virtual Care Working Groups and loves to help docs harness the power of their smart phone.

One of Canada’s most decorated track and field athletes, she has been named Canada’s Female Athlete of the Year, and was given the keys to her hometown of Pickering, Ontario.
A recipient of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee medal for her charitable work, Perdita is a supporter of many initiatives including those that work to end violence against women.
Her first book, My Mother’s Daughter, will be published by Doubleday Canada in March 2021. Perdita’s memoir chronicles her experience as a child witness to domestic abuse, homelessness and the highs and lows of her illustrious racing career.

Amelia Nagoski, D.M.A. (it stands for Doctorate of Musical Arts), is Associate Professor and Coordinator of Music at Western New England University. Her job is to run around waving her arms and making funny noises and generally doing whatever it takes to help singers get in touch with their internal experience.
In that way, her work is very much like Emily's. Emily's Masters' degree is in counseling and Amelia's is in choral conducting; one day they realized they both got graduate degrees in how to listen and feel feelings, which maybe says something about their shared childhood?
They both live in New England with a variety of cats, dogs , and spouses. Yes, they're twins. Yes, they're identical. Yes, one time they pretended to be each other; it did not go well.

Dr. Onye Nnorom
Dr. Onye NnoromDr. Onye Nnorom is a Family Doctor and a Public Health & Preventive Medicine specialist. She is the Associate Program Director of the Public Health & Preventive Medicine Residency Program at the University of Toronto. As the Black Health Theme Lead, she is tasked with developing education content for teaching medical students about Black Canadian health and inequities due to systemic racism. She is also a clinical consultant for the Nicotine Dependence Clinic at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health.Read more
She is the President of the Black Physicians' Association of Ontario. She was also the chronic disease prevention lead at TAIBU Community Health Centre, where she led a number of successful cancer screening initiatives. Most recently she has taken the role as the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, within the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. And she is the host of a podcast called Race, Health, and Happiness where she interviews succesful Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color, providing wisdom on how to stay well in a "racialized world".
Dr. Nnorom completed her medical degree at McGill Univeristy and then completed a Masters of Public Health (Epidemiology) and residency training at the University of Toronto. Being of Nigerian and Trinidadian heritage, she is particularly interested in Black community health and wellness and racism as a social determinant of health.
Dr. Wendy Troxel
Dr. Wendy TroxelDr. Troxel is a Senior Behavioural Scientist at the RAND Corporation and Adjunct Faculty in Psychiatry and Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh and University of Utah. Her research focuses on the interface between sleep, the social environment, and health, and the implications for public policy. Dr. Troxel is considered the leading authority on sleep in the context of close relationships, including couples. She is the PI or Co-PI of several projects funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense and foundations. Her work has been published in top-tier medical and psychiatric journals and has also received widespread media attention, including film interviews on CBS Sunday Morning, Good Morning America and print interviews with the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, MSNBC, and CNN. Troxel's TEDx talk on sleep in adolescents has received over 1.9 million views, and is at the forefront of policy discussions on the impact of early school start times on adolescent sleep. Troxel is also an active clinical psychologist with a focus on behavioral (non-pharmacologic) treatments for sleep disorders. She has served in leadership roles in several professional sleep societies, including the Society of Behavioural Medicine and the Sleep Research Society and serves as an Associate Editor for the journals Sleep Health and Behavioural Sleep Medicine.
